Scolio-Pilates® Sessions
You can learn to live with scoliosis! Young or mature, braced or unbraced, fused or unfused...we know you are stronger than scoliosis, and we're here to help you prove it.
Scolio-Pilates® uses evidence-based movement techniques to help you elongate and reduce compression to find length and ease of movement. This freedom of movement, found with scoliosis-specific exercises and Scolio-Wedges designed just for your curves, can help reduce the stiffness and rotations of your spine. With this length and de-rotation, we can help you strengthen this newfound alignment and create a neuro-muscular new normal.
There is a lot of hope for scoliosis! If you've been told there's nothing you can do, well, that's one point of view. But there are more. We understand scoliosis pain and frustration. Many Scolio-Pilates® practioners (like Jeanine) have been there ourselves. That's why it feels so good to tell you that there is hope. You can do this...and we've got your back.
Introductory Scolio-Pilates® Session is 80 minutes and includes evaluation, discussion of goals, movement history, etc. Regular Scolio-Pilates® Sessions are 45 minutes.

Private Sessions
In many cases, one-on-one training is the best option for an individual's specific goals. If you're rehabilitating from an injury or working to manage a health condition, if you're a professional athlete looking for sport-specific training, or if you simply prefer exercising at times that work for your lifestyle, private sessions are the ideal option for you. We'll work together to customize a program for your goals and needs with sessions that fit around your schedule.
Introductory Private Session is 80 minutes and includes postural evaluation, discussion of goals, movement history or special conditions. Regular Private Sessions are 55 minutes.

Diversity in Pilates
Pilates teacher training is often seen as an “exclusive” territory of elite populations due to its expense and the challenges of how, where or when training opportunities are available. Add to this the cost and time requirements for trainees to take their own Pilates classes, observe classes, and often purchase equipment or props for home use, and costs can easily add up to an unrealistic sum for many individuals. Besides the questionable status of wage vs. non-wage worker, unpaid trainee programs further create a vicious cycle of rewarding those who are already economically advantaged while intensifying competition among those who cannot afford to work for free.
The goal of the Balanced Body® Community Expansion Scholarship Program is to increase the diversity of the Pilates profession by training teachers who come from Black and other underrepresented communities. Balanced Body Authorized Training Centers around the country and around the world, such as Commonwealth Pilates in Henderson, NV are participating in this program by providing full scholarships to qualified students.
