Jeanine Yutani

"Movement is healing - it helps our bodies, our minds, our hearts, our spirits. It really is that simple."

I’ve dedicated my career to helping people move in ways that support their unique bodies, abilities, and experiences. My approach blends Pilates, breathwork, CranioSacral therapy, and other mindful movement techniques, with a strong focus on individualized programming. Having lived with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), I deeply understand the need for movement that adapts—not just to a diagnosis, but to the ever-changing reality of how we feel day to day.

Because of this, I specialize in working with individuals living with autoimmune conditions, connective tissue disorders, scoliosis, and other complex movement challenges. My goal is simple: to help people feel more at home in their bodies—without forcing them into a one-size-fits-all approach.

My Background & Experience

I began my career in 2005, working in Pilates-based physical therapy practices, where I developed a deep understanding of movement as rehabilitation. In 2012, I opened Via Pilates, a Pilates and Physical Therapy studio in the Henderson/Las Vegas area, before my amazing (and heat-averse) dentist fiancé decided he was ready to get back to Oregon in 2025. Now I split my time between NV and OR, so it's the best of both worlds!

I am honored to be:

  • A Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT®)

  • A Balanced Body® Educator for Pilates, Movement Principles, Anatomy in 3-Dimensions®, CoreAlign® and Advanced Movement Principles

  • An Authorized Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner & Educator

  • A Franklin Method Educator

Additional Trainings & Specialties

I believe that ongoing education is essential, and I’ve trained extensively in specialized movement approaches, including:

Therapeutic & Corrective Exercise - Certified Therapeutic Exercise Specialist, Certified Orthopedic & Corrective Exercise Specialist, Senior Exercise Specialist
Pilates for Special Populations  - Pilates for Scoliosis & Hypermobility, Pilates for Breast Cancer, Prenatal & Postpartum Pilates, Pilates for Buff Bones
Targeted Movement Training - Pilates for the Feet, Shoulder & Upper Quadrant, Pelvis & Lower Quadrant, and Pfilates for the Pelvic Floor

A Unique Perspective on Movement

Before focusing on therapeutic movement, I was a competitive martial artist—and was even inducted into the Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame! That background gave me a deep appreciation for discipline and strength, but living with RA and hEDS reshaped my perspective. It taught me that movement isn’t just about pushing limits; it’s about finding balance, resilience, and ease.

That’s why I’ve committed my career to helping others navigate movement in a way that honors their body’s needs. Whether you’re an athlete, a person living with chronic conditions, or someone simply trying to move with less pain, you deserve to be seen, heard, and supported. Cookie-cutter methods don’t work for everyone—but movement that’s tailored to you can open up new possibilities.

Personal.

There's truth in saying that, "I teach people, Pilates is simply the method." Every person, every individual, every body is unique. Regardless of age, shape, size, color, injury, fitness level or ability, it is my goal to meet you where you are with a client-focused approach that gives you the permission to be who you are where you are - whether you're a pro golfer, someone recovering from an injury, a new mom, an occasional athlete or anyone else. Your program with me will be individualized and designed just for you.

I believe in being a true partner in people's progress. By focusing on each individual moving "smart"  instead of "hard" or "fast" to group choreography, we can make amazing gains in performance improvement, pain-reduction, ease of movement, stress reduction or whatever else your goals may be. That is the essence of how I work: take it slow, find the connections, let yourself laugh, and live & move in the moment.

Guidance.

Starting from breathwork and the Pilates Essentials, together we'll build a program to help you toward your individual goals. The work will be challenging, yet accessible - regardless of where you're beginning. Instead of getting lost in the crowd, you'll get plenty of one-on-one attention. Whether you're coming to see me for private sessions, Scolio-Pilates®, or for help completing your Pilates teacher training, I'm committed to making the most of our time together.

This also means I welcome working with ALL types of people and bodies. I support and encourage greater diversity in the Pilates world through Balanced Body's Community Expansion Scholarship Program which provides help to remove financial barriers and provide support to current and aspiring Black Pilates instructors.

Experience.

A drive for excellence guides me in doing what I do to the best of my ability. That's the foundation of who I am as a movement professional. That means I'm constantly striving to learn and improve myself, even after 20 years as an instructor. And I'm committed to encouraging my clients and students to do the same. Continuing to study, train and research, as well as helping to teach the next generation of instructors is part of my passion for movement and for this industry, and something that gives me purpose.

Be on the lookout for a new piece of Pilates equipment designed by me coming soon...stay tuned for updates!
